The owner communicated well with us and gave great directions and instructions, so we had no trouble at all in finding the boat and getting on board. The location was really nice. Very quiet at night. A great pub, cafe and pizza restaurant a few yards away. The boat was really sweet and very cozy: fairly roomy inside and well laid out. I stayed with my daughter for one night and we both really enjoyed our stay. I slept in a double bed and my daughter had one of the bunk beds. I'm only 5ft tall and slept OK on my own. But there is no way my husband could have been comfortable in the double with me as he's over 6ft. And it's also not a wide bed. There is also a double bed that can be made up in the dinette. Our host had left us tea, coffee and 2 bottles of water, which we appreciated as it was not recommend to drink the water from the tap. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the houseboat. It would be worth checking what entertainment was on at the Dorothy Pax pub, as it would be a great evening canalside.

I was looking for a unique experience within Sheffield city centre when I stumbled upon this Houseboat Hotels. Stayed for just one night with my partner to celebrate birthday and I loved it very much. There are 2 boats to choose from, which is just next to each other and a parking was provided right in front of the boat. I was worried if it would be cold inside but the heating was perfect all throughout the boat. There was one double bed, one bunk bed, and a sofa (probably a sofa bed), which I’d say would be comfortable up to 4 people to stay. There was a stove and oven to cook with complete set of kitchen utensils and also fridge. Bed was made upon arrival and towels were provided. They provided an instruction before checking-in and left a simple instruction sheet that explains on how to use the stove, shower, etc.

A unique accommodation on a canal boat moored at a quay very near the city center. Quite fun! Spotlessly clean and run by a charming host. If you are looking for the Ritz Carlton, go elsewhere. But if you are in the mood for something different in a great location with all needs met, give this houseboat a try! There’s an easy to understand guide to the facilities on the boat. Included parking is right at the boat and directions to access are complete and simple. Nearby pubs and cafes. If you go, and you see owner Mark around the boats in the morning, talk to him! He is friendly with loads of stories and information and can tell you all about the boats. Our first visit to Sheffield, an interesting city with lots of history and many restaurants, pubs and historical sights. We hope to be back!

I've always wanted to stop on a boat and decided to book this for my Husband's birthday. It is ideally located in Sheffield city centre. It's a short walk from the train station and the main shopping area. The owner sent very clear instructions on how to get here .The boat was very clean and comfortable. The heaters were on when we arrived so it was lovely and cozy and there are blankets to get snuggled on the sofa. The bed was really comfortable. We got woken up by the ducks the next morning. It was just a lovely place to stay

The quirkiness of a houseboat appealed , got everything you need for a weekend stay . Centrally located at Victoria Quay, walking distance to city centre or Kelham island . Cafe , and 2 bars , restaurant located just along the quay . Very quiet at night . Comfortable , got everything you need in the kitchen . Bed was comfortable to sleep . Access to the quay and boat was easy following detailed instructions sent before hand . Now we have tried a houseboat we would think about hiring one that moves 😀
